Why Choose Us

Why organisations choose Calmways

Clinically grounded

Training is informed by real clinical experience, not just theory or slides. This helps people understand why things happen, not just what to do.

Psychologically safe delivery

Sessions are facilitated in a way that allows honest conversations without pressure, judgement or forced participation.

Practical and relevant

Content is shaped around real world scenarios, not abstract models. So learning translates into day-to-day practice.

Tailored to your context

Whether working with leaders, frontline staff or whole organisations, sesions are adapted to the audience, sector and level of responsiblity.

Suicide First Aid

Suicide First Aid (SFA) is a lienced, evidence-based suicide prevention training programme designed for people who are not clinicians but may find themselves supporting someone who is struggling or at risk. The focus is on early intervention, clear boundaries and appropriate escalation, not therapy or carrying risk independently.

Partcipants learn how to ask directly about suicide in a clear and appropriate way, respond calmly and professionally to disclosures, understand what to do (and what not to do) in the moment, and safely hand concerns over to the right services. The training also addresses the emotional impact these conversations can have on those providing the intervention.

Delivery options include half day (SFA: USI Lite) and full day (SFA: USI). Both can be delivered in-person or online. Optional progresion to an RSPH Level 4 Award is also aailable for SFA: USI learners.

"It was great to see our team engaging so much when historically we've struggled with that.

I am still hearing postive feedback from the team, about how great this session was and we're already planning the next one. "

"It was a thoughtful and well paced sesion. Despite the difficult topic. Joe delivered it in such a calm and reassuring way it really helped to make it make sense and really land for me personally and for my team. "

"Joe was a fantasic trainer, one of the best I've seen, and I attend a lot of training! He clearly knew his stuff but you could just tell how pasionate he was about it all too. I really did feel encouraged at the end to take some action and have a conversation I've been putting off for a long time! Thank you!"
